Evanston, IL – TechniKrom, Inc. today announced the launch of two next generation IBDTM In-line Buffer Dilution skid systems. The new systems utilize TechniKrom’s patented Adaptive PATTM technology to enable precise and accurate in-line dilution of buffered salt solution concentrates at 300 L/hr and 1200 L/hr throughput, respectively. Buffer dilutions of up to 10-15X can be achieved with concurrent pH adjustment, offering significantly better accuracy and precision than mass flow controlled blending. TechniKrom’s Adaptive PATTM control not only provides real time adjustment of buffers based on molarity and pH but also corrects any variations in feedstock concentrate at the same time. The units can be used in any application with a high volume demand of dilute buffers, including purification, filtration, cell culture, and formulation. Engineered IBDTM systems with capacities over 6,000 L/hr are available. “The IBDTM product line is a natural continuation of TechniKrom’s commitment to reduce bioprocessing run variability, increase yields, and gain FDA regulatory compliance, with immediate return on investment,” said TechniKrom CEO and founder, Lou Bellafiore. “Pilot plants and manufacturing facilities are searching for ways to improve productivity downstream; when coupled with the obvious space-saving advantages of in-line dilution, this technology will help biopharmaceutical companies cope with the downstream processing bottlenecks that are resulting from increased upstream titers.”
